Holy Saturday, March 30th

Joe didn't sleep well, but he sure ate a great breakfast this morning.  The entire day was a constant stream of visitors, and caring friends bringing over groceries, meals, treats/desserts, flowers and offers to do so much more.  Hospice nurses are great....wonderfully attentive to Joe.  He visited with guys he went to high school with (Elder, Class of '79), my sister and her family, Joe's sister and her family, friends' wives and sisters....just truly a blessing to see how many folks Joe has touched.  Although he was tired and took naps in-between, Joe truly was energized by all the love and support from the visits.

I've been getting calls and texts constantly wanting to know when it would be a good time to visit.  I say any time....as long as you let me know you're coming.  Joe is truly feeding off the energy of those around him and it keeps him strong.

Continue to pray for Joe and our family as we spend this Easter season spending as much quality time with him as we can.  May God bless all of you today and every day.

Thanks to all for surrounding Joe with your love and support.  It truly means everything to us.

Family.....

Enough said!

1st night home

Joe is set up in our family room so he can watch TV, visit with family and friends, and see out our wall of windows along the back of the house.  He is much more comfortable here, and very thankful he no longer has to endure hospital food.  The meatballs with his lunch at the hospital the other day looked like something you'd put in your hamster cage to gnaw on.....bleck!

He was watching the NCAA tourney games last night in between short naps.  He's looking forward to as many visitors today as he can.  He's very tired but has been foregoing pain med so he can stay alert for interaction with those around him.

Going Home...

Joe will be going home today with Hospice.  Everyone needs family and good friends during difficult times.  Thanks to everyone that has volunteered their time, made meals, and helped the Mueller family. It has been very much appreciated.

Joe's Diagnosis

Joe started showing symptoms of a health problem this past November.  We were all shocked and saddened to hear that he has been recently diagnosed with a rapidly progressing case of ALS.  We will be posting updates on his condition and how you can support Joe and his family during this difficult time.
